"In medical school I was taught that
short of corticosteroids, little could be done for canker sores - you
simply had to "wait them out.""However, recently my dentist introduced me
to ORA5, a solution of copper sulfate, iodine, potassium iodine and
alcohol, which is used by dentists after procedures to prevent infection.
When daubed on a canker sore (in the mouth) several times a day, ORA5
immediately reduces pain by coagulating the connective tissues and creatin
a"pseudo-membrane" covering the nerve endings. It also protects the sore
and through its antibacterial effects, shortens the healing time."
